            Although it looks the color commonly used in Okinawan yachimun, the artist was actually inspired by the Micronesian sea.
You can see beautiful “kannyu” in this series. A "kannyu" is a pattern of cracks in the glaze caused by the difference in shrinkage between the glaze and the base material during cooling after firing, and is different from cracks or scratches that occur when the piece breaks.
